Solar Cooker
Spherical parabolic cookers are direct concentrating cookers with a dish-type reflector that directs most of the intercepted solar radiation to a focal point. This design enables quicker cooking and enhances the taste of the food. The cooking vessel is supported at this focal point, creating a heating situation similar to traditional open fire cooking. The concentrators can have shallow or deep dish shapes and can feature a continuous reflecting surface or be made out of concentric rings that support the focus of radiation. Dish-type concentrators rely on direct sunlight and need frequent orientation adjustments to face the sun.

It is advise to use 5 liters for S.C – 14 & 14 Ltr. for S.C. – 24 ISI marked pressure cooker having blackened bottom.
Application Area
- Solar cookers can be used in “no burn” areas and on “no burn” days. So it is perfect for camping in areas with fire restrictions.
- It can be used anywhere a hot meal is needed or desired such as mountain tops, on sailboats, camping and tailgating.
- Pasteurizing water in a solar cooker before consumption by raising the temperature to 151 degrees Fahrenheit (66 degrees Celsius) is an effective way to purify water.
- In countries where clean water is scarce, infections that develop as a result of improperly sterilized medical equipment are common. Chemical disinfectants, such as iodine, are seldom available, and fuel for boiling water is expensive. In such places, solar cooker provide a cheap and available alternative to wood and petroleum for heating water.
