A cold storage room is a great place to store fruits and vegetables, as well as other products, as they prolong life and help prevent spoilage of foods. Cold Rooms are a great idea as they will keep items much cooler than regular room temperature. And the electricity billing is the main expense of this industry.

In terms of pollution emission, Today’s cold-chain accounts for approximately 1% of CO2 production in the world, however, this is likely to increase if global temperatures increase significantly which is again demanded to maintain the temperature cold storage itself and more encourage or increase to CO2 emission pollution. So, that’s why the solar system solution is one of the solutions to save the environment and it becomes more commercial benefit to the agriculture industry.

In actual, every cold storage has a heavy HVAC connection from the electricity board & an uninterrupted power supply with good power quality is required for smooth operation and achieves maximum efficiency of the food chain. Generally, this kind of customer has used the Capacitor bank to improve the Power Factor (PF) of its own as per their load condition. It also backs effect on the solar system, as the challenge of maintaining the PF of customer side load and with the smooth operation of the solar system to get a maximum generation of green energy. Here, the KOSOL Energie has accepted such kind of challenges and overcome with a special type of design and technology selection by KOSOL design team.

The KOSOL team is conducting a comprehensive site survey to gather detailed data for analysis of the customer’s electrical load pattern, senior load condition, sensitivity to voltage fluctuations, electrical protection, and HVAC system. They are selecting an inverter that offers a wide range of power factor settings with automatic adjustment. Additionally, the inverter is designed with an optimized string configuration on the DC side, allowing for higher string DC voltage. This facilitates efficient power boosting on the AC side to support heavy loads and improve power factor by utilizing a capacitor bank. KOSOL team also ensures external protection on the AC side, including proper SPD, power factor controller and protection, and reverse power protection, to safeguard the solar system and ensure smooth operation.
